Frigid Fiver Course

Frigid Fiver Course, Newburyport, MA

The race is a five-mile lap. It's course is as follows: Start at the Bresnahan School and continue east down High Street; take a left onto Market Street just past the route 1 overpass, then another left onto Merrimac Street. Follow Merrimac west until you reach Spofford Street. Take a left on Spofford and then a left onto Ferry Road. Continue on Ferry until it turns into High Street and then make your way back to the Bresnahan Elementary School.

All the pertinent houses are on the right side of the road and clearly marked. Starting on the right side of the Bresnahan school at the jog that separates the two parking lots, mile one is at the crosswalk at 217 High St. Mile two is at 222 Merrimack St, the red and tan office building. The first of two hills starts around Coffin St. at mile 2.80. Mile three is at the yellow house at 428 Merrimack St also the top of the first hill. The second hill starts at mile 3.80 which is the left turn onto Spofford. Mile four is at 54 Spofford St, where hill two begins to flatten out. Hill two ends where Spofford St intersects with Ferry road.
